The rule that saves the most money
Book holiday weekends early and ordinary weekends late. GCC hotels discount unsold midweek inventory ten to twenty days out — but over Eid and National Day they do the opposite, because they know the rooms will go. Waiting for a holiday deal is how a family ends up paying double for an inland room.

Ramadan is the value window nobody books
Rates soften 15–30% through Ramadan across Dubai, Doha and Riyadh, and hotels compete on iftar and suhoor packages rather than room price. If you want a five-star weekend at a four-star budget, this is the month — then let the Eid rush pass entirely.
Family checklist before you confirm
- Connecting or family rooms — confirm in writing, not as a "request".
- Kids stay and eat free — check the age cut-off (usually 6 or 12) and which outlets it covers.
- Kids' club hours — many close at 6pm, which is exactly when parents want them open.
- Late checkout — the last day of a long weekend is worth half a day extra.
- Cancellation cut-off — holiday packages typically go non-refundable 14 days out.
- Minimum stay — two to three nights is standard over Eid and New Year.
Where to look when your own city is full
Dubai residents should price Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah; Doha residents should look at island and Al Wakrah resorts rather than West Bay; Riyadh families consistently find better holiday value in Jeddah or on the Eastern Province coast. A 45–90 minute drive routinely halves the Eid premium.
